Post Graduate Diploma (P.G.D.) Ophthalmology (DO) is a 2- year-long postgraduate course in JSS Medical College and Hospital. This course enables the students to specialize in physiology, anatomy, and the diseases of the eye and the optic nerve. The degree enables the candidates to treat the conditions of the human eye either through medication and/or surgery. The curriculum includes subjects such as Ocular Examination Techniques, Ophthalmic Optics, and Surgical Instruments in Ophthalmology. Ophthalmologists find good career options in super speciality eye clinics and other large hospitals that have Ophthalmology departments. The scope to start private practice is also high.
