Master of Dental Surgery (M.D.S.) Pedodontics is a 3-year postgraduate program at SDM College of Dental Sciences and Hospital. This paediatric branch of dentistry deals with diseases of the supporting and investing structures of the teeth of young patients. The students are trained in didactic interaction and exposure to all kinds of real-life clinical situations. After completing the education, a student can join the government or private dental institutions, polyclinics, multi-speciality clinics, private practice, etc. This course is also beneficial to provide treatment for mental, physical and emotionally handicapped children or medically compromised patients, manage medical emergencies commonly encountered in children and adolescents undergoing treatment.
