Master of Science (M.Sc) Perfusion Technology is a 2-year postgraduate programme at Vydehi Paramedical College. Perfusionists are people who are specialised in perfusion technology. It is a course where a professional is trained in the healthcare of heart and respiratory surgeries. They operate a cardiopulmonary bypass machine (heart-lung machine) for keeping the patient alive during cardiac surgery and other serious procedures such as open-heart surgery. The course offers both theoretical and practical training in clinical sciences. A graduate in this course can find full-time employment in medical colleges, nursing homes, military hospitals, rehabilitation centres, multi-speciality hospitals, individual cardiac surgeons, clinics and health department, private and government hospitals.
