The NIMHANS Admission procedure is as follows:
1. NIMHANS Admissions are based on the marks scored in the entrance examination conducted by the university.
2. Eligibility criteria for admission must be fulfilled by the applying candidates for the specified or desired programs.
The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) is a Deemed-to-be-University and a multidisciplinary institute for patient care and education in the field of mental health and neuroscience. Established in 1925, NIMHANS, Bangalore has been providing high standards of clinical care, quality training, and cutting-edge research in various areas and specializations.
NIMHANS, Bangalore has been ranked 4th among the best medical institutions in the country by NIRF 2020. The Central Government of India recognized the institute's academic position, growth, contribution and declared it a Deemed University in 1994.
NIMHANS, Bangalore offers various UG, PG, Diploma, Super Speciality, and many other programs under multiple specializations. In 2012, NIMHANS was granted the status of an Institute of National Importance. Since its inception, the university has been a combination of research and training with promotive, preventive, and curative aspects in Mental health and Neuroscience.
Candidates will be informed to download the E-Hall tickets that must be produced at the online entrance test centre.

The online entrance test paper contains multiple-choice objective-type questions. The duration of the test will be 90 minutes, wherein candidates have to answer 100 questions. For the NIMHANS exam, candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions. NIMHANS results for the entrance exam will be announced online on the official website.
The Library and Information Centre was started at the All-India Institute of Mental Health (AIIMH) in 1954. The centre had an initial collection of 3,775 volumes and 85 subscriptions to journals. The centre was later upgraded to the National Neuroscience Information Centre (NNIC) with generous contributions from the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology, and National Informatics Centre.

The candidates must have passed the 12th Std or 2nd Year PUC examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks. The applicants must be medically fit for pursuing the program at the institute.
Candidates must have passed the 12th Std or 2nd Year PUC examination from any recognized state board or university with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and English. They must score a minimum aggregate mark of 45%. Candidates with a job-oriented diploma program from a recognized board with diagnostic radiography as vocational subjects or equivalents can also apply. Candidates with a minimum of 45% marks in exams recognized by the NIMHANS, Bangalore with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics can also apply. They must also be medically fit.
To apply for this course at NIMHANS, candidates must have completed their 12th Std or 2nd Year PUC in the science stream with a minimum of 45% in their final exams. Applicants with a Domicile of Karnataka certificate can also apply under the “Karnataka Domicile Category”.
Candidates must have completed their 12th Std or 2nd Year PUC with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects. They need to score a minimum of 45% in their final examination. Candidates can also apply under the “Karnataka Domicile Category” if they hold a Domicile of Karnataka certificate.

Candidates must have completed their Bachelors of Science (B.Sc) in Nursing, Bachelors of Science (B.Sc) Hons. in Nursing or Post Basic Bachelor of Science (P.B.B.Sc) Nursing. The candidates are required to be medically fit. They must be a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council. The candidates must have a minimum of 1-year experience after B.Sc Nursing or P.B.B.Sc Nursing as on the day of Counselling.
The applicants must have completed their undergraduate degree program with mathematics or statistics as one of the mandatory subjects.
The candidates must have pursued B.Sc in Yoga or BNYS with 50% aggregate marks from a recognized University or Institute of National Repute. Candidates who have a Graduate degree in Science/ Medical/ Paramedical/ Physiotherapy/ Nursing with one Year Diploma or Equivalent in Yoga Science can also apply for the program.
The candidates must have completed Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Sciences (BDS) or Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences (B.V.Sc). The candidates having postgraduate degree in Sociology/ Statistics/ Environmental Sciences/ Physiotherapy/ Occupational Therapy/ Health Management/ Social Work/ Economics/ Speech Pathology and Audiology/ Speech Pathology/ Audiology/ Nursing are also eligible for applying to the program.
The candidates must have completed either Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM).

The NIMHANS admissions are based on the merit obtained in the entrance test conducted by the institute itself. Candidates applying for the program must fulfil the eligibility criteria as required by the course or the department.
The application form for NIMHANS admissions is submitted online mode on its official website. The candidates are required to upload the necessary documents as mentioned by the university during the time of registration. The documentation must be supported with the originals along with a set of photocopies at the time of NIMHANS admissions.
Note: All the Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Foreign Nationals who are holding passports of countries other than India can apply for NIMHANS admission under the Foreign National Category.
