Master of Law (LLM):

Applicants must have completed a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized institute or university with qualified marks or grades in the CLAT exam. Foreign candidates will have no provision for direct admission to the course.

Business Law:

Master of Business Law (MBL) (Online Course):

Candidates must have passed in Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in law or other fields from a recognized institute or university. Candidates with a degree certificate or equivalent from any UGC-recognized university or Open University. Those with professional degrees such as CA, CS, or CMA can also apply. There shall be no restriction concerning the age, nationality, gender or employment status of the candidate.

Public Policy:

Master of Public Policy (MPP):

Candidates must have a Graduate Degree with any discipline from any recognized institute or university. They must have secured the required marks in the Policy Aptitude Test (PAT).

National Law School of India University Courses offered at Doctorate level:

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D):

Law:

Applicants must have completed LLM from a recognized university or institute. They must have scored a minimum of 55% (5% relaxation for reserved category candidates) or equivalent grades in the same. Candidates have to secure the required cut off score in the National Law School of India University Entrance Exam to pursue this course.

Interdisciplinary Program:

Candidates have to meet any 1 of the following eligibility criteria:

• Candidates must have completed a Master Degree, in any discipline, from any recognized institute or university. They must have scored a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (50% for the reserved category candidates) in the same.

• Candidates who have qualified for the Company Secretaryship examination conducted by Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and awarded Associate Membership of the Institute (ACS). Along with this, they have to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognized university.

• Candidates who have passed the Chartered Accountants examination conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and are awarded Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Along with this, they have to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognized university.

• Candidates who completed Master of Business Laws (MBL) from NLSIU, Bangalore with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.00 or equivalent.

Candidates have to secure the required cut off score in the National Law School of India University Entrance Exam to pursue this course.

Integrated Ph.D Program in Public Policy:

Candidates must have completed a Master Degree in any discipline from any recognized institute or university. They must have secured the qualifying marks in the Policy Aptitude Test (PAT).

Doctor of Laws:

Candidates must have obtained a Ph.D in Law through a regular mode from a recognized institute or university.

OR

Candidates must have completed an Interdisciplinary Ph.D in any subject from a recognized institute or University.

OR

Candidates with 10 years of teaching experience or exceptional achievement in the field, along with an LLB degree

National Law School of India University Admissions:

Below mentioned are the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) admissions process:

• Admissions for BA LLB and LLM programs are based on marks secured in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

• MPP aspirants must have qualified in the Policy Aptitude Test (PAT).

• MBL and other Diploma Programs admissions are based on merit obtained by the candidates.

• Ph.D applicants must have passed the National Law School of India University Entrance Exam. They need to score a minimum of 50% to be eligible for the presentation round, which will be monitored by an expert panel. Ph.D candidates will be selected by the PG Council, based on the panel’s judgement.

• Candidates may secure admission only after the payment of the requisite notified fee before the last date. If they fail, they can apply afresh during the next academic year. Those failing in the 2nd attempt may not be eligible to seek admission to Ph.D at the university.

National Law School of India University Scholarships:

Students are offered admission based on their academic performance. The university has adopted an inclusion policy to ensure students of all backgrounds be benefitted from its programs. The National Law School of India University Admission department does not consider the financial background of the students and is committed to support every student, irrespective of their financial constraints.

The following 3 types of financial aid is provided at NLSIU:

• University Aid - Administered and funded by the university

• External Aid - Administered by the university but funded by third parties.

• Third-party Aid - Facilitated by the university but administered and granted by third parties.

Private Scholarships:

• Aditya Birla Scholarship – Based on CLAT Ranking

• ICCR Scholarship – For Foreign Candidates

• Colive Scholarship – 6 months of Free Accommodation/ Hostel Facilities for Eligible 1st Year Candidates.

The university also offered education loans to deserving candidates. It facilitates both Short Term and Long Term loans based on the course opted by the candidates.

NLSIU Placements:

The career service team helps students explore dynamic internship and placement opportunities for a growth-oriented career ahead. All UG and PG candidates are engaged in the placement activities at the university.

Internship Details:

• 1st and 2nd Year students are encouraged to take up an internship in February and March every year for a period of 3 to 4 weeks.

• 3rd, 4th, and Final Year students have to go for a compulsory internship during February and March for a period of 4 to 5 weeks.

All LLM and MPP candidates must undertake a compulsory internship during February and March.

Placement Details:

Placement drives are organised for the UG students in their 4th Year and Final Trimester in March/ April every year. The drive for the Final Year LLM students is organised during the same period. Placement drives are also facilitated for MPP students. Deloitte, Tata Trust, Uber, FICCI, Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), CEEW, and others have been top recruiters for this program in the past.
