Mangalore University is a premier public university located in Mangalore, Karnataka. It was established in 1980 as an independent postgraduate centre of the University of Mysore. It has grown impressively and has 206 Affiliated Colleges, 5 Autonomous Colleges and 2 Constituent Colleges under its hood.
Mangalore University offers higher education in the field of Arts, Science & Technology, Commerce and Education. Over the years, the university has been recognized as one of the premium universities in India.
Admission here is both Entrance and Merit based. It’s Placement Cell strives to find the dream job options for the students. With four academic faculty, the campus currently has 28 departments. These departments offer 54 PG Programs and 27 Doctoral Programs. The courses are offered both in regular and distance education mode.

The Mangalore University has two campuses located in Mangalore and Madikeri. The university campuses are: The campus at Mangalagangothri is located in the historic coastal town of Mangalore and is spread across 353 acres. The campus provides all the essential and infrastructural facilities for candidates with excellence in higher education.
Jnana Kaveri Postgraduate Centre (JKPGC) is located at Somwarpet Taluk, Madikeri. It has two academic departments offering 11 Postgraduate and 2 Doctoral programs. The campus of Mangalore University is spread across 70.47 acres of land in the scenic and beautiful hilly district of Kodagu.
The Mangalore University’s library is spacious and has a total number of 2,00,000 books. It also has around 23,000 volumes of reports, thesis, etc. covering various subjects. The library has about 270 research and general interest journals across a wide range of subjects. It has access to 7,500 Journals in full-text from UGC INFONET. However, the library also has an Audio-Visual Facility, Computer-aided Retrieval, CD-ROM station and Xerox services. The Cyber Lab with 50 stations is available for accessing E-Journals.
The Mangalore University also provides Hostel or residential facilities for both men and women. There are 3 well-furnished hostels with the following facilities, which includes:

Mangalore University has an on-campus health centre that takes care of the health of Students, Faculty, and Officials. It also has a Dental Clinic and Pathology Labs.
The Directorate of Physical Education at the university looks after all the sports activities. The campus offers both indoor and outdoor sports facilities for interested students. It has a 400 meters running track, Tennis Court, Gymnasium, Indoor Stadium, etc.

Candidates applying for the Bharatanatyam program at Mangalore University must have passed any Degree or Diploma from a recognized university or institute. They must have pursued Bharatanatyam as one of the optional subjects in the same. Candidates with a Senior Certificate from KSEEB in Bharatanatyam are also eligible to apply.
Candidates should have passed Degree or Diploma with Karnatak (Carnatic) music as one of the optional subjects from a recognized university. Candidates with a Senior Certificate from KSEEB in Karnatak (Carnatic) Music are also eligible for admission at Mangalore University.

Candidates with B.Sc Degree or equivalent from a recognized university with 65% marks (60% for students belonging to reserved categories) in Physics are eligible for this course at Mangalore University. They must have pursued Physics as a major/ optional/ special subject and Mathematics as a major/ optional/ special/ minor/ subsidiary subject for at least 2 years.
Candidates must have completed a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for students belonging to reserved categories). They must have pursued Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Application/ Computer Programming/ Business Mathematics/ Business Statistics as one of the elective subjects.
Candidates applying for the MBA program at Mangalore University must have passed Bachelor Degree or equivalent from a recognized university or institute. They must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for students belonging to reserved categories) in the same. The selection is also based on the marks obtained in PGCET and other entrance exams.

Candidates applying for the M.Ed program at Mangalore University must have completed any of the following degrees with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade.
