KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER), popularly called KLE University, was established in 2006. The university was founded by the great visionary efforts of Dr Prabhakar Kore, Chairman of the KLE Society. KAHER, Belagavi, aims to be a centre of excellence in Medical Education, Research, and Healthcare Services at National and International Levels.
The university was established under the aegis of the Karnataka Lingayat Education (KLE) Society in 1916. KLE has transformed the Northern region of Karnataka as a fertile land of education since its inception. Currently, the society is managing and providing education in 250 institutions that include Schools, Colleges, Technical Institutions, Research Centres, and Business schools.
The university offers education in Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Physiotherapy, Nursing Science, Information Technology, Law, and other conventional and non-conventional disciplines. In 1963, KLE Society established the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College at Belgaum due to the extreme shortage of medical facilities in the region. The university has Ten constituent colleges spread across the different cities of Karnataka.
KLE Deemed-to-be-University is spread across 113 acres of the sprawling campus located in the Northern region of Karnataka State. The campus is rich in providing impressive infrastructure facilities with highly renowned teaching faculty. KLE University ranking is among the top universities for offering the best academic exposure for eligible candidates.
The KLE University has an in-campus hospital with state-of-the-art facilities and a medical research centre. The hospital is equipped with 2,200 beds and the best diagnostic facility. The campus is WiFi-enabled and has a digital library with e-learning and other facilities onboard.

The Belagavi campus of the KLE University comprises 9 hostel campuses: 4 for Boys’ and 5 for Girls’. Hostel facilities are offered for the Medical, UG, PG, and Intern candidates. All the KLE University hostels are well-maintained and are facilitated with 24 hours water and electricity supply with a generator back up. Each candidate is provided with a cot, study table, and a chair. The rooms are equipped with a fan, and more than 50% of rooms have attached bathrooms.

Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations from a recognized institute or board. They must have pursued Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as mandatory subjects and must have scored 50% aggregate marks in the same. Students must have appeared and qualified in the NEET UG entrance exam. They must have completed 17 years of age on or before December of the year of admission at KAHER.

Students must have appeared and qualified in the NEET UG entrance exam. They must have completed 17 years of age on or before December of the year of admission at KLE University.
