JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSSAHER) is popularly known as JSS University. JSS University was established in 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. The main JSS campus is located in Mysuru, Karnataka. JSS Mahavidyapeetha manages the JSSAHER. The university is accredited by NAAC and NBA.
It has also been granted the Deemed-to-be-University status by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Since its inception, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research has been focusing on its academics, research, and health services. It is also the first institute in Karnataka to receive recognition and 4 stars among the Health Science-based institutes in India.
There are currently more than 600 faculties, 2000 Undergraduate, Postgraduate students and around 300 research scholars. JSSAHER ensures to provide an affordable quality education for the candidates. JSS, Mysore offers a wide range of international study and research opportunities for all students.
It provides UG, PG, and Doctoral courses in Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Biosciences, Life Science, Yoga fields, and many more. JSSAHER provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls. It offers spacious, furnished, comfortable rooms with all the modern amenities. It has a hygiene kitchen that provides nutritious food and RO drinking water. Each hostel block also has a separate pantry and laundry facility with both indoor and outdoor sports facilities. All the hostel campuses have 24/7 security facilities. It also has CCTV cameras and security guards for students protection and safety. There is a separate residential facility for PG students with the best accommodation and catering facility.
The institute provides candidates with indoor and outdoor sports/ games facilities. It offers outdoor sports facilities such as Cricket, Football, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Basketball, Throwball, Ball-Badminton, and Athletic Track. It provides indoor sports facilities such as Table Tennis, Chess, Carrom, Shuttle Badminton and Recreation Hall, and Gym Hall. The institute on the campus has a permanent multipurpose sports ground with National standards.

Aspirants must have appeared and qualified NEET-UG entrance examination and must have completed 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission at JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research.
Candidates must have completed 10+2 or 12th Std or equivalent examinations from a recognized institute or board. They must have pursued Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as principal subjects.

All the aspiring and eligible candidates at JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER) are offered placement facilities to candidates. More than 75% of the candidates enrolled in training and placements are placed in leading Pharma, Ayurveda Hospitals, and many more. The training and placement department of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research aims to impart hands-on training experience and provide opportunities to students of all disciplines.
The institute also collaborates with the industry not just to hire candidates, but also for academic exchange programs. The Deputy Director, who heads the office of the Training and Placement, conducts the meetings with constituent colleges thrice annually to understand the requirement of the students for employment and internship opportunities.
The coordinators from each constituent college are responsible for gathering data of the students interested in pursuing a career in life science, pharmaceutical science, hospital management, and much more.
