Yenepoya University Courses Offered at PG Level:

Dental:

Master of Dental Surgery (MDS):

Candidates should have completed a BDS program from any recognized university or institute. They must have obtained a qualifying rank in NEET MDS entrance exam.

Medical:

Doctor of Medicine (MD)/ Master of Surgery (MS):

Candidates should have completed an MBBS program from any recognized university or institute. They must have obtained qualifying marks in the NEET PG entrance exam for Yenepoya (Deemed-to-be-University) admission.

Master of Science (M.Sc) in Medical:

Candidates must have completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) from a recognized university or institute. They must have obtained their degree from any branch of Science or Medicine and should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Applicants must qualify for the Yenepoya University Entrance Exam.

Allied Health Science:

Master of Science (M.Sc):

Candidates must have passed in Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in relevant allied health specialization from a recognized university or institute. They must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.

Master of Physiotherapy (MPT):

Candidates must have passed Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) from a recognized university or institute. They must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.

Hospital Management:

Master of Hospital Management (MHM):

Aspirants must have passed in Bachelors Degree from any recognized institute or university. They must have scored a minimum of 50% (45% for candidates belonging to reserved categories) aggregate marks in the qualifying exam to gain admission to the MHM program.

Public Health:

Master of Public Health (MPH):

Candidates must have passed Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from any recognized institute or university. They must have either Medical/ Nursing/ Dentistry/ Allied Health Science degree.

Nursing:

Master of Science (M.Sc) Nursing :

Candidates must have completed Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or P.B.B.Sc Nursing from any recognized institute or university. They must have obtained the required aggregate marks in the same. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of work experience in the field of Nursing.

Statistics:

Master of Science (M.Sc) Statistics:

Candidates must have passed Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or B.Sc Statistics from a recognized institute or university. Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in BA/ B.Sc Actuarial Science with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects are eligible to apply. The applicants must have obtained a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the same. Selection for Yenepoya University is based on merit secured by the candidates in the qualifying exams.

Master of Science (M.Sc) Biostatistics:

Candidates must have passed a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute or university. They must have pursued Statistics or Mathematics as one of the mandatory subjects. Students with BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc Computer Science in the qualifying exam can also apply. They must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in any of the qualifying examinations to gain Yenepoya University admissions.

Library and Information Science:

Master of Library and Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc):

Candidates must have passed Bachelor's degree examination from a recognized university or institute. They must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.

Social Work:

Master of Social Work (MSW):

Candidates applying must have passed in Bachelors Degree in any discipline from a recognized institute or university. They must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the same.

Super Speciality Programs:

Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch):

Candidates applying for the program must have passed in Master of Surgery in General Surgery or equivalent as recognized by MCI. Students must have qualified in the NEET SS exam with the required rank.

Yenepoya University Courses and Fees:

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D):

Candidates must have completed a Master Degree or equivalent degree program from a recognized institute or university. They must have secured a minimum of 55% (5% relaxation for candidates belonging to reserved categories) aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

Yenepoya University Admissions:

The admission procedure for candidates to join Yenepoya University is as follows:

• All the applying candidates for various courses must fulfill the required eligibility criteria as mentioned by the institute.

• Candidates wishing to join MBBS/ BDS programs at Yenepoya University must obtain qualified marks in the NEET UG exam by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

• The MDS and MD/ MS candidates must obtain a valid score in NEET MDS and NEET PG respectively.

• If the number of candidates is less than the available seats, eligible students will be offered direct admission in all the courses except MBBS, BDS, MD, MS, MDS and M.Ch.

• The university conducts entrance exams for a few courses.

• NRI candidates have to qualify for the NEET UG exam for MBBS and BDS courses.

• Postgraduate NRI candidates must qualify NEET PG NBE for MD/ MS program.

• Entrance exams for all the candidates will be conducted at Yenepoya University’s campus.

• Yenepoya allocates 50% of the seats to the minority student’s community.

• The seat allotment for multiple courses are as follows:

- General or Management Students: 85%

- NRI Students: 15% seats

-For MBBS, 12-13 seats are surrendered to the Karnataka State Government.

Yenepoya (Deemed-to-be-University) Scholarships:

Below mentioned are the Yenepoya University scholarships offered to the students:

1) For MBBS and MD/ MS Candidates:

• A 10% scholarship is provided for the Alumni of Yenepoya Group of Institutions/ Child of the Alumni.

• A maximum of 2 seats will be reserved in this category and granted based on merit only.

The scholarship will be provided for the candidates fulfilling the below conditions:

• Yenepoya University only provides 3 merit seats.

• The applying employee must have worked for more than 10 years in the institute.

• Employees can claim for only 2 seats.

2) BDS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ Other UG Courses: Free Seats

• Five meritorious candidates (2 for Kasargod Dist candidates) from economically backward families will be considered under the category. The applicant must belong to Dakshina Kannada or Udupi District.

• Candidates must apply for the scholarship on Yenepoya University’s official website.

• Applicants must have completed 10+2 or PUC or equivalent from a recognized institute or university. They should have scored a minimum of 80% marks in PCB to be eligible for freeship.

• The candidate must apply under MCC/ AYUSH counselling and be allotted a seat at the institute as per the guidelines.

• Few free seats will be awarded based on the rank obtained by the candidates. Only five seats under this category will be considered.

• The list of candidates qualifying for freeship is published after the due verification process by the committee.

• The registration fee of Rs. 25,000 has to be paid by the scholarship obtained by the candidate during admission.

• The scholarship only covers the course fee payable for study. Other expenses like a hostel, uniform, etc, will not be covered under this scholarship.

• Some free seats are restricted to only one child from a family for a particular course (2nd child shall be considered for a different program).

20% of the course fee will be offered as a scholarship if the candidates fulfil the conditions as underlined by MCC.

b) Child/ Spouse of Employee at Yenepoya Institute:

• The applying employee must have worked for more than 5 years in the institute.

• Eligible employees are eligible to claim for only 2 seats.

3) Academic Merit Scholarships:

• Merit scholarships are offered for the candidates securing 90% and above marks in PCB. The fee of 25% will be deducted if the candidates fulfill all the conditions outlined by MCC. This scholarship is restricted only to 5 candidates.

• This scholarship will be available for the Yenepoya Pre-University college candidates in addition to the Alumni Discount (in the case of children of the university’s staff).

4) For MDS Candidates:

• 10% of the course fee will be provided as a scholarship.

The scholarship will be provided for the candidates fulfilling the below conditions:

• The applying employee must have worked for more than 10 years in the institute.

• Eligible employees are eligible to claim for only 2 seats.

5) Other PG Courses:

• 20% of the course fees will be provided as scholarships to the Alumni of Yenepoya University.

The scholarship for the eligible candidates will be if the below conditions are fulfilled:

• The applying employee must have worked for more than 5 years in the institute.

• Eligible employees are eligible to claim for only 2 seats.

Yenepoya University Placements:

The placement cell at Yenepoya was established for providing all the necessary guidance to the students for employment.

• It aims to have good contact with the industry for placing students in the best positions.

• It ensures to work as a coordinator between the institute and the industry conducting interactions and organizing lectures from the industry professionals.

• It also organizes entrepreneurship workshops for the students.

• It arranges placement for the students by conducting campus interviews while they study.
