St. Joseph's University, Bangalore is a premier university located in one of the world's fastest-growing cities. It was founded as a college in 1882 by the Fathers of the French Foreign Mission. The college was affiliated to the University of Madras as a 2nd grade college, and it was later affiliated to Bangalore University in 1967. It received university status in 2021.
St. Joseph's University, Bangalore was one of the first institutes in Karnataka to get a Research Centre in 1988. It has been recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) as an Institution for Excellence.
