JSS Science and Technology University (JSS STU) is one of the top renowned private universities located in Mysore. JSS STU was established in 1963 and is administered by JSS Mahavidyapeetha. JSS STU aims towards being a research-driven university that inculcates and integrates nation-building in its curriculum. It is the 2nd University under JSS Mahavidyapeetha besides a Medical University at Mysore.
The Library and Information Centre at JSS STU was established in 1963 and is one of the best engineering college libraries in the state. JSS Science and Technology University library has a collection of over 1,31,000 volumes of Text Books, Reference Books, Yearbooks, Biographical sources, Humanities, Abstracts, Literature and Management.
It has a rich collection of Thesis, Dissertations, Encyclopaedias, including novels in multiple languages. The university encourages the students to prepare for examinations like IAS, IPS, GATE, TOFEL, GRE and other National - International level examinations.
The library and the information centre at the JSS Science and Technology University also has 1665 Technical Journals, 30 General Magazines, and E-Journals like IEEE-IEL Online, Elsevier, ASCE, ASME, Springer, Taylor and Francis, ProQuest, etc. The Digital library has around 35 computer systems to access the E-Journals, E-books and CD/ DVDs for accessing the journals.

JSS Science and Technology University, Department of Physical Education and Sports was established in 1963. It believes that Physical education is an integral part of the educational program and is designed to promote the optimum development of an individual.

The JSS Science and Technology University has two ladies hostel facilities for more than 380 girls. One hostel located in the south end of the campus provides accommodation for about 200 girls.
The other hostel located 3 km away from the university at Hootagalli accommodates around 180 candidates. JSS Science and Technology University, Mysore provides bus facilities for the students to travel from the hostel to the campus.
JSS Science and Technology University has a separate hostel for boys that facilitates accommodation for around 570 students (UG 515 and PG 55). The boys hostel is located on the college premises at the north end of the campus.

The hostel has an Anti-ragging squad that comprises Senior Professors who supervise both at college and the hostels.

The JSS Science and Technology University Placement and Training Department takes the initiative to provide adequate training that enables students to have better employability skills. The placement office encourages its students to gain knowledge while being trained in multiple languages.
The office offers English and German language training for the students during their 1st year of engineering. To attract top MNCs and other companies for the JSS Science and Technology University Placement process, officers ensure that they organise many industry-level activities on the campus.
They organize regular student development programs in means of Technical workshops, Seminars, Quiz Programs, Industry visits, etc. Special JSS Science and Technology University Placement scholarships are available for outstanding students.
