The Central University of Karnataka (CUK) was established in 2009 by an Act of Parliament. It is located at Kalaburagi, Karnataka. CUK, Karnataka is one of the 16 Central Universities established by the Government of India to address the concerns of equity and an access to increase the quality of Higher education.
The University offers programs mainly in five dominant academic areas such as Arts, Humanities, Management, Science, and Engineering. It is currently running 16 departments spreading across 12 Schools and 1 Centre. They offer 9 Dual Degree Programs, 15 Master Degree Programs and 16 Research (PhD) programs.
Due to its exceptional academic infrastructure, the Central University of Karnataka ranking has been consistently high throughout the years. The university’s main objective is integrating the components of Teaching, Research, Innovation and Training to help students excel in their preferred field.
The CUK, Karnataka Campus is spread across 654 acres of land. The university is located at Gulbarga-Waghdhare on the Interstate highway near Kadaganchi village.

The Central University of Karnataka provides separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls in spacious and well-furnished infrastructure. Residences allotted for the students are based on a merit-cum-reservation basis depending on the intake of students in the departments.
The students joining the university from far off places will be given preferences during the hostel allotments. No student admitted to the university will be guaranteed hostel accommodation. The students during the time of admission must submit proof of nativity. They shall also submit a Native/ Residency Certificate issued by the Revenue Officer/ Tahsildar or any other relevant certificate issued by any authority of their respective native as proof of residence.
Hostel or Accommodation facilities are offered to the students of Central University of Karnataka. The hostel committee strives to maintain cleanliness and to improve the quality of food in the hostel mess, cafeteria and bakery. Quality checks in the same will be done regularly. The hostel committee considers complaints related to the hostel mess facilities and takes appropriate steps to solve them.
The student’s safety within the campus is the responsibility of the campus security agency. It ensures the safety of the campus and the student community. They promote a safe and welcoming environment, ensuring the student's well-being on the campus.
They are also responsible for protecting the university property against any sort of theft and vandalism. The Central University of Karnataka is equipped with CCTV cameras in various locations, including the Entrance, Hostels, Library, Administrative Building, etc.
The Central University of Karnataka ensures to provide health care facilities to all the students, teaching and non-teaching staff. It makes sure that doctors are available on campus with the supporting staff, lab technicians and nurses.
The centre is committed to promoting the health and wellness of the campus community by ensuring high-quality treatment, prevention and education. It has facilities that include an in-patient ward, drip, blood, urine, and blood pressure testing facility. For emergency services, the university healthcare facility has a 24x7 ambulance service available on the campus.

Student recreational services at the Central University of Karnataka include Cultural and Sports activities. The student council and the sports committee organizes the Sports (ANKUR) and the Cultural Fest once every year.
The committee aims to select the sportsperson from the university and train them to organize various sports camps participating in AIU Sports and South Zone Inter-University Competitions.
