Overview:

Bengaluru Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) University was established in 2017 and is based on the model of the London School of Economics. It ensures to be the finest training institution in the field of Economics across the country. The first batch at the institute was admitted in 2017 through various All-India Entrance Exams. The academic session was inaugurated by the World-renowned Economist, Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

The institute offers UG, PG, and Doctoral programs for eligible candidates. Admissions are based on merit and marks obtained in the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) or equivalent exam. The university focuses mainly on imparting holistic knowledge in Economics by providing an understanding of other social sciences disciplines such as Political Sciences, Sociology, Philosophy, Ethics, etc.

BASE University aims to set a new model in teaching and research in Economics and assist the country in policy formation.

  • Students will be selected based on merit obtained in CUCET or other All India National Level Entrance Exam conducted by various universities.
  • Candidates must upload the required documents after filling up the registration form.

Reservation of Seats under Bengaluru Dr. Ambedkar School of Economics Admission Process:

The university ensures to reserve seats for the candidates as per the guidelines provided by the Government of Karnataka.

  • It reserves 60% seats for Karnataka students, and 40% of seats have been reserved for candidates from different states, including Karnataka.

- - Out of 60% seats reserved for Karnataka students, 20% has been reserved for SC, and 10% for ST candidates.

BASE University Scholarship (EXIM Bank):

Beginning from 2021-2022, the Bengaluru Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Economics is awarding the ‘EXIM Bank-BASE University Scholarship’ to eligible candidates. Exim Bank provides scholarships to M.Sc Economics final year candidates.

This scholarship is offered for three meritorious students that comprise 2 General Candidates and 1 Reserved Category Candidates. As per the scheme, Rs 5,000 per month shall be credited to the accounts of best-performing students.

The university announces the names of the scholarship eligible students after the declaration of their first-year results.
