Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a 5.5-year course in Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute which includes 1 year of rotating internship. The course offers a comprehensive study of the anatomy of the human body including dissection of all the systems such as the digestive system to understand the structure and function in a detailed manner. The students also study various subjects related to causes, diagnosis and treatment of human diseases. Successful students of the course usually go for further studies for specialisations and some start practising as a general physician.

Candidates should pass 12th Standard with HSC, PUC, or A-Level or an equivalent examination should have obtained 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology(taken together) and should have passed English as one of the subjects.
