The syllabus for Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Civil Engineering is built for the duration of the course, split into eight semesters. The first two semesters have subjects common to all disciplines of study. Core subjects are covered from the third semester onwards such as Fundamentals of Surveying, Concrete Technology, Highway Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering and Design of Steel Structures.

Students must pass 12th Standard with HSC, PUC or A-Level or an equivalent examination with English as one of the languages and obtained 45% of marks in the aggregate with Physics, Maths as compulsory subjects along with any of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Electronics, Information Science or Computer Science.The student should have passed 2nd PUC/ 10+2 grade/ an equivalent examination securing a minimum 45% of aggregate marks (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates). The subjects chosen should be Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Electronics/ Computer Science, and English.
