During the course time, the students are engaged in clinical rotations, attending seminars and workshops, presenting scientific papers and research studies. They learn advanced treatment methods, especially non-surgical techniques to treat ailments of internal organs. Some of the subjects covered in the syllabus are Haematology, Intensive Medical Care, Pulmonary Medicine, Paediatrics, Endocrinology, etc.

The candidates should have completed MBBS or done their Postgraduate Diploma from any recognized medical college or university and passed the qualifying examination with 55% or above aggregate marks. They should have appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate Examination (NEET PG) and obtained the minimum cut-off percentile to specialize in General Medicine.
