Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Community Medicine is a 3-year postgraduate non-clinical speciality study. The students are prepared to identify the health requirements of a community or a region and provide adequate healthcare following the norms of National Health Policy. They are posted in rural health centres, urban health training centres, etc. during their period of study. The course curriculum includes medico-social case discussions, weekly seminars, journal presentations, book reviews, paper presentations and organising health camps.

The candidates should have completed MBBS or done their Postgraduate Diploma from any recognized medical college or university and passed the qualifying examination with 55% or above aggregate marks. They should have appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate Examination (NEET PG) and obtained the minimum cut-off percentile to specialize in Community Medicine.
