Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Paediatrics is a clinical speciality course dealing with the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The postgraduates learn to undertake clinical history of the children, perform clinical physical examination on them, and determine the suitable use of cost-effective diagnostic procedures. They are trained in understanding the health needs of newborn babies to 18-year old adults. They also learn about the nutritional and feeding practices to be adopted by young parents. Some of the subjects taught include Neonatology, General Paediatrics, Ambulatory Paediatrics, Community and Social Paediatrics, and Emergency and Critical Care Paediatrics.

The candidates should have completed MBBS or Postgraduate Diploma from any recognized medical college with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
