GNM or General Nursing and Midwifery course is a 3.5 years Diploma program in the field of Paramedics. Students are required to undertake an internship for the duration of 6 months. General Nursing and Midwifery course mainly focus on the parameters of care to individuals, society and families.

A candidate who is given a degree of GNM Nursing Diploma is a registered nurse and has a nursing licence. This course provides knowledge about dealing with the sick and elderly. It also provides special training on how to take care of a pregnant woman. GNM subjects aim to produce qualified nurses who can be an active part of the medical community.

The admission procedure for the GNM program depends on a college. Many colleges require the candidates to fill up the admission form online. Most of the institutions take direct admission on the basis of 10+2 examination results, with special importance to marks obtained in science subjects.
